Gizem Demirezen and Özlem Rüveyda Karaduman created the conceptual brand Gaki for their Senior Year Graduation Project at AHBV University. In Asian Folklore, Gaki means hungry ghost, and the design team took the word and ran with the implementation of it within their design system. The result is a branding system that's equal parts playful, creative, and minimalistic. The two eyes are the most adorable yet straightforward way to represent the ghost-like figure. They work across all of the packaging systems making for a well-rounded and dynamic branding and identity system.
Gaki means hungry ghost in asian religions a mythological animal of the asian folklore. So we created this project inspired by Japanese pop culture and Kawaii concept. Due to pandemic, we have designed our brand to be online only. We generally worked in a simple, fun and colorful design language. Also this project is designed as Senior Year Graduation Project at AHBV University.
