Having plants indoors has been proven to enhance concentration and productivity and help boost moods and reduce stress levels.

Inspired by these exciting findings, Natalia Radnaeva created packaging designs for indoor plant seeds. Each of the packagings artfully showcases the shadows that the various plants would potentially cast, and the muted yet beautiful earth tones used throughout are beautifully selected. Keeping the typography simple allows the shadows and colors to take reign, perfect for a brand that’s promoting a more peaceful and positive future thanks to these very plants.

Furthermore, packaging the seeds in a clear glass tube gives the consumer more of a magical feeling, switching up the normal from the opaque, often dull, rectangular paper packaging.

Green Culture — of seeds of indoor plants. For our target audience indoor plants are a part of decoration. Therefore, a houseplant should fit into the interior.

The idea is pretty simple. When you have plants at home the tend to cast shadows. And also there are different lighting conditions through the day.

Various interiors, walls and textures make graphic design itself. To sum up, it is the shadows and different lighting (morning, afternoon, evening) that give life and beauty to the room. I can also name a concept by plant ‘testers’ due to its unique form factor that looks life a perfume testers.

Before creating design there was a huge research regarding growing home plants, seeding, growing conditions and etc. First of all, I was thinking about why people purchase plants. There are several reasons: helping reduce stress, decorating and creating an aesthetic interior, creating an environment close to nature, conscious lifestyle. However, essential point is that you usually need a lot of time for growing a plant from a seed. That is why my target audience is mature people who have an ability to put an effort to the process. During the research I realised that in russian market there are problems with the variety of indoor plants, as well as the almost complete absence of a category of indoor plants. And the brands almost do not differ from each other. Usually a packaging represents photo of a plant that leads to visual noise and draining of all products on the shelf. Also I tried to use a specific form factor for this category.
