Pizza Hut Drops 'Tastewear' Collection That Includes Those Iconic Red Tumblers

Somewhere along the way, brands started offering streetwear and merchandise that celebrates mass consumerism and junk food in the form of fashion. Consumers snatch up these limited-edition items with the same fervor sneakerheads and comic book nerds chase mush-hyped drops. 

Some fast food and snack brands go it alone, some team up with celebrities and designers to snatch some of that FOMO cash, but most critical of all, they build and maintain brand popularity.

Long overdue in the branded and inspired streetwear game is Pizza Hut. Decades of pie dominance and global reach lends the Hut's brand some serious heft derived from decades-long brand affinity and worldwide recognition. Calling its inaugural drop “Tastewear,” the new collection leans into their current “Newstalgia” strategy of combining nostalgia with contemporary taste. Pizza Hut’s Tastewear includes red-and-white checkerboard tracksuits, a graphic tee sporting a Tiffany lampshade, a pepperoni pizza slice pendant, branded red slides, and those same familiar red tumblers from your youth.

“We're so excited to give our biggest fans a chance to show off their pizza love through fun, trending streetwear-inspired pieces that are still classically Pizza Hut," Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer, Pizza Hut, said in a press release. "From the bejeweled pepperoni chain to the classic red cups, our team thoughtfully crafted the details to give fans nationwide a fresh way to show off their Pizza Hut love.”
