Tieutcup Is A New Take On The High Capacity Female Menstrual Cup

by Chloe Gordon on 07/19/2021 | 2 Minute Read

Menstrual cups are a type of feminine hygiene product that is reusable. Essentially, it's a small, flexible funnel-shaped cup that women can use as a more eco-friendly option during their cycles.

Tieut Inc. created packaging for their Tieutcup menstrual cup product that makes an impact, but not in your typical pink or purple menstrual product way. Instead, the pastel yellow shade box paired with minimal typography is sleek, subtle, and hosts all the information a consumer would need. In fact, the packaging is so beautiful that you wouldn't feel ashamed to leave it resting on your vanity or your bathroom countertops, something rare for menstrual products.

We've said it before, and we'll repeat it, the pink, and purple stereotype for female-based products needs to disintegrate.

One of the ways to start a business is to look at a problem that people might have and develop and offer a solution to that issue. But what might be even better way to do is offer a solution to a problem that your friends or family might have. That's how Tieut started.

Taejun Yoon (CEO) saw his sister Songee Yoon (co-CEO) struggle with finding the right period products for her. Tampons and pads needed to be changed far too frequently to be comfortable and menstrual cups were almost not available in South Korea at that time.

They then decided to make their own period product. One that would solve all these issues and more. And this is how Tieutcup was born. A reusable period product that doesn't have to be changed often due to it's relatively high capacity.

The biggest statement we tried to make with our packaging is that it doesn't use the typical pink or purple tones like a lot of other menstrual products. To break away from the trend of needlessly gendered product packaging, we chose for our (now slightly iconic) nudy yellow tone for our packaging instead.
