Oreo Wants To Make It Easier To Hide Your Stash With Clever Packaging

Let’s face it—cookies are irresistible. There are so many varieties and a cookie for nearly every taste. Most of us as adults have learned enough self-control to stop ourselves from vacuuming up our entire cookie stash in one go.

Usually.

That level of restraint is something developed over time, and sometimes kids aren’t quite there yet, sneaking into the cookie supply and ravaging and plundering it, leaving adults looking forward to them empty-handed and disappointed.

Oreo understands that problem and addressed the need for hiding cookies in plain sight with new packaging designed to look like boring grown-up stuff. Adult brands like Better Homes & Garden, Ford, Green Giant, and Hanes lend a hand in the clandestine cookie operation. Each cookie package gets made to look like either a cookbook, truck owner’s manual, packaging of cauliflower medley, or a 3-pack of white tees. The true nature of the contents is only partially concealed but enough to strategically place the cookies in a safe place.

The cookie brand will give away 1,500 camouflaged packs of Oreo Thins via sweepstakes, asking fans to enter over social media by sharing their favorite stash locations. The premise of the promotion is apparently very relatable, inspiring other brands to reply with their favorite spots.
