Fussy's Unfussy Design From Blond Preaches the Power of Refillable Deodorant

I'm going out on a limb by saying this, but one thing about human bodies that we could all probably do without is excessively sweating. How many perfectly white tees are going to have stained armpits for it to come to an end? 

And while even trivial things like sweating through our shirts are less than ideal, it also doesn't help that the products used to stop our sweating come tucked in packaging that hurts our planet more than it helps. 

Many deodorants, most likely including the one you use daily, come packed in a non-degradable plastic container. Not only is the packaging detrimental to the environment, but many deodorants also contain an antibacterial chemical called triclosan that helps reduce body odor. While this might be nice when you're stuck on the treadmill next to a person that smells like they just got sprayed by a skunk, once washed down the drain and pushed back into the waterways, the chemical sits on the water's surface, posing a threat to the organisms that live within these waters. 

Though, what if we could cruise through life while simultaneously smelling good and doing great things for the Earth. While it might seem like a near-impossible feat, Fussy is working towards a more natural and environmentally friendly deodorant world. 

With packaging designed by the London-based studio, James Melia from agency Blond, Fussy's natural deodorant sticks get made from recycled plastic, the refills are natural deo packaged in compostable paper pulp, and the case is infinitely reusable. Instead of throwing away the entire container, as most deodorants call for, reinsert a new deodorant block once the old one runs out. 

Plus, the deodorant blocks fit in a standard envelope so, when part of the subscription service, customers receive a new one at their doorstep, making this brand more convenient than one could ever dream of. 

The packaging design mimics a bar of soap or a smooth pebble in that it's sleek and straightforward and can comfortably fit in the palm of your hand. Not to mention it's the perfect accessory for any bathroom countertop.

Not only does the durable, plastic-free refill and carbon-neutral deodorant do incredible things for the Earth and your body, it also is visually pleasing.
