Method Goes Metal With New Aluminum Soap Dispensers

Method isn’t like most soap and cleanser brands, as they are focused on using their business to do more than generate profits. Its products are cruelty-free, vegan, made with minimal packaging designed to be refilled and reused, with enough style to earn a spot on the counter instead of under it.
Typically made of recycled plastic bottles wrapped in attractive graphics, Method is no stranger to using other materials like glass, for example. To encourage refilling, Method has gone a step further with new aluminum soap bottles that come in a wide array of colors to spice up your home decor.
The new aluminum hand soap dispensers are made of recycable materials and come in a brushed and matte finish that is modern and easy to match with other metal elements in the room, like sink fixtures. Available in two colors at launch—silver and rose gold—with black and gold joining the lineup in July, Method says the design found inspiration in modern fixtures, though it’s easy to recall the colorful iPod mini and nanodevices. The shape is new as well, with a more machine-like silhouette than Method's current line of hand soap dispensers.
“Method has a legacy of sustainable product development spanning the last two decades. With this collection, we’re bringing in a new era of sustainable design at Method. We’re in the process of building a platform of durable, refillable, reusable home essentials and prioritizing refill innovation across our entire business to drive circular behavior. Our goal is to put sustainable design within reach of every Method consumer,” said Sean McGreevy, senior director of industrial design at Method.
“A new material requires an entirely new set of constraints to design within. This clean, edited aesthetic is straightforward, modern, and bold. We didn’t want to paint the bottle to hide the innate qualities of such a beautiful material but rather select finishes to complement your home’s faucets and fixtures. We’ve eliminated the need for a plastic label by silk-screening the graphics directly on the bottle. Additionally, aluminum opens up a world of possibilities when it comes to digital printing,” Sean adds.
Method’s new line will be available at Target starting June 20th.
