Bklik Discovered That Packaging For Kids Can Still Be Minimalistic

Designing packaging geared towards kids is a challenge within itself. How do you make something so "blah" in a child's mind, something like cottage cheese, into something that resonates a sense of enthusiasm and curiosity? Enter Tamara, a high-quality dairy company based in Armenia. The brand teamed up with Brandon Agency to produce Bklik, a sweet cottage cheese line for kids.

In Armenian, Bklik means "a child who overeats." With this in mind, the team created three quirky characters to feature on the three different flavors. While the packaging tells a funny story through its characters, it's also profoundly minimalistic. Finding this balance isn't as simple as this brand has made it look, and we applaud the ability to create beautiful packaging that will also surely resonate with youngsters.

Tamara is a company based in Abovyan, Armenia specializing in producing high-quality dairy products. We were tasked with creating a name, logo, and package design for their new sweet cottage cheese product line. Target audience: 5-13-year-old boys and girls. Challenges Based on the target audience we wanted the product line to communicate one core message "make healthy eating fun and playful". Our first challenge was to elevate the simple sweet cottage cheese visual identity and product to look and feel more engaging and playful compared to the rest of the products in the market. The naming of the product line was quite a challenge as we wanted the name to communicate the playfulness of the brand but be memorable and especially be easy for children to pronounce. Solution

The name "Bklik" is an Armenian expression which means " a child who over eats " therefore is the perfect beginning to the story of our brothers and sister. Our three little "bkliks" is what we call them, are designed to give each product a unique character that will resonate with kids across our target group. On the package itself, we put the chocolate glazed sweet cottage cheese front and center to show off the food appeal, and we have the characters manically hanging on to it, again communicating silliness and playfulness! We know that the secret to every successful brand is the story they tell us and the journey they take us through. Every single aspect of the brand should tell one cohesive and consistent story, and what better story for a children's food product than the classic and relatable sibling rivalry over the delicious and mouth-watering treat!
