Pulp+Wire Make Atlantic Sea Farms' Kelp The Star Of The Show
by The Dieline on 05/05/2021 | 2 Minute Read
Highlighting the beautifully simple and nutritionally rich kelp, Maine's brand alchemists Pulp+Wire worked with Atlantic Sea Farms crafting packaging that would reflect the quality of the product and the mission to support local fisher communities and kelp growers.
Pulp+Wire created a unified line of packaging to include their jarred products and boxed frozen kelp. The packaging features organic shades of yellow, green, and blue, the same colors of the product and pristine Maine waters where the kelp is grown. The packaging for all products allows the consumer to see the beautiful shade of the real kelp contained inside, entirely transparent for a demographic accustomed to dyed and processed seaweed salads as the norm.
Anchored in Maine, Atlantic Sea Farms helps the coastal economy thrive by giving lobstermen and fishermen another way to make income through the ocean—by growing kelp to use in Atlantic Sea Farm's line of products. As a way to drive this message home and personalize the brand, the packaging features a picture and brief profile of a real kelp farmer in Maine.
Atlantic Sea Farms’ kelp supports their community with jobs, and the sea vegetable reduces carbon from our environment. Pulp+Wire used recyclable materials and soy inks for the frozen kelp packaging as sustainability and functionality were paramount. The boxes that hold the frozen kelp and ready-to-use cubes are perfectly sized, making sure there is no wasted space or unnecessary packaging.
And it's more than just what's on the outside. The Fermented Seaweed Salad and Sea-Beet Kraut are winners of the 2021 Good Food Awards, with Sea-Chi winning in 2020.
