Barefaced Food Has Clean Packaging And Even Cleaner Foods

My Creative is a UK-based agency that designed the identity for the plant-based food company, Barefaced Food. The brand creates made-to-order vegan packed foods and focuses on creating perfectly balanced nutritional meals for their customers. They needed an identity that could match the clean and inviting qualities of their food, and they've done so flawlessly through the use of gorgeous custom illustrations, a simplistic and sleek typewriter-inspired typeface, and crisp white labels. The colors used throughout the packaging are vivid and based on colors found in both nature and Barefaced Foods, which proves the thoughtfulness infused in the branding. If anyone has a clean identity, this is it.

Barefaced Food® a vibrant new plant based food business based in Ayrshire. Delivering fresh and inventive per packed vegan meals made to order around Scotland. As such, they focus all their energies on preparing and delivering fresh, high quality, nutrient rich plant based food. Specialising in their very own Barefaced Buddha Bowls (a perfectly balanced nutritional powerhouse in a bowl) they also offer healthy ready made soups, hot pots, snacks and treats. As well as sharing vegan recipes with their audience. All the food is colourful, fragrant, full of texture and, of course, delicious!

Solution: My Creative aimed to create a brand that was clean and inviting, looked nutritious and did not clash with the naturally colourful food on offer. The final brand identity was simple, using its own Mono font created especially for barefaced food®. This was paired with a set of illustrations made from spray painting fruit and veg shaped stencils. These would be used sparingly when there was no way to frame the real food within the design. These were also used to illustrate the 16+ meal cards barefaced food® and provide engaging content for social media.

The packaging was again simple in design and to reproduce. Clearly communicating the ingredients and putting the food on show. Using composable Vegware bowls, so to be as sustainable as possible. The labelling coves a small proportion of the prepared meal and even has a die-cut window, framing the real food within the design. Linking the food and identity as one. The fresh minimalism helped communicate the health and quality of the product best! Along with simply designed compostable packaging in a bright open interior space, we could easily convey the brands values. This project was a pleasures to work on and help bring nutritious and delicious plant-based food your way. We all need more plants in our lives

Deliverables include: Research and brand identity, logo design, logotypes, typography system, font design, type design, online graphics and takeaway packaging. A set of illustrated fruit and vegetables
