Sanity Is Lifting The Stigma When It Comes To Women's Periods

Sanity is a company that sells period products that speak the truth. Frequently, female hygienic products are found packaged in decorative florals paired with pastel colors. If you ask any female the truth about their period, the last thing that comes to mind are flowers and rainbows. Sanity has tapped into this truth by creating quick and witty, and very accurate sayings on each package. From "Hangry is a valid emotion" to "Let your friends walk with you, not behind you," the phrases are insightful and authentic. If you know, you know. And Sanity knows that the female voice and perspective are crucial, especially when the products are for her.
Floating florals, lush gardens, the panoramic sky and cotton candy clouds on a bed of soft pastels... Enthusiastic butterflies, and even more enthusiastic female gymnasts... just what one usually encounters on packaging created for period and female hygiene products, especially in India.
The approach to periods, or 'that time of the month' has somehow been less about conversation, and more about painting an almost fake positive narrative. Ask any woman (or yourself if you are one) about the period experience. It's annoying, tiring, full of uncertain emotions and plagued by social stigma.
The largely female team at Stratedgy had the opportunity to change this state of affairs, back in 2016. Their labour of love has finally been launched in 2021.
There is a lot of conversation about breaking the stigma around periods and period talk online. They wanted to bring this discussion to the front of the pack, and own their period experience.

Most women will agree that they’d like to be given some space, chocolate, and frankly a break during our period. They would rather the world understand that ‘hangry’ is a valid emotion. Women would like for all of womankind to stop looking back, fearing a leak.
