Seth Rogan’s Houseplant Line Features Retro-Inspired Stackable Tins That Broke The Internet

I’m not going to be the first to say it, nor will I be the last, but Seth Rogan is a man of many talents.

When asked to name my celebrity crush, I always answer “Seth Rogan.” This response often ends in people either giving me a blank stare or reasking the question in hopes of a new answer. But, hear me out. Seth Rogan could easily get coined the modern-day Leonardo da Vinci. No, he’s no scientist or architect, and as far as we know, he hasn't cured cancer or racism. But he is an actor, GQ model, writer, sculptor, comedian, and creator of Houseplant, the immensely Instagramable cannabis company that he started with his creative partner Evan Goldberg.

Houseplant was launched two years ago but recently broke records when their newest line crashed their website upon release. The strains are named after crazy weather (who even knew what Pancake Ice was before Houseplant) and are packed in colorful and stackable containers. The minimally designed tins exude a retro aesthetic with colors that exude a nostalgic 70’s basement—think orange shag carpets and neon pink lava lamps. Each tin comes with a reference card with information about the strain, helpful for both novice and advanced smokers.

When they first launched the line, Houseplant implemented a VHS aesthetic that included an authentic sliding sleeve cover which gave the line retro-home-movie-feels. The most recent line is as minimal as the first, and we’ve come to love the straightforward nature of the brand.

Unfortunately, this line is currently sold out; our hopes are high that either a relaunch or a new line will be happening shortly. In the meantime, we’ll just have to appreciate the pictures of this well-executed line.

And it’s important to note that while we appreciate the inventive nature of the stackable tins, we’re not 100% sure why you’d need to stack your weed at all. Maybe it’s a clever play on how the more you have the higher you’ll get. Or maybe it’s supposed to help you stay more organized when your mind is all over the place. I’m not sure we’ll ever really know, but it is something to think about.
