The Dazzling World Of Ravera Wines

Fernando Ravera, a renowned wine producer, has released a new line of wine called Ravera Wines. Jacomy Mayne worked to incorporate aspects of Fernando’s charm into the bottle and packaging design. In an attempt to personalize the wine and allow it to speak for itself, whimsical elements come together to represent the dichotomy of Fernando’s personality. Using a combination of photos and illustrations, Jacomy Mayne created a simple, yet bold collage for the front of each bottle. Choosing to make the photo of Fernando's face black and white, works to emphasize the darkness and elegance of the bottles, while highlighting the intricate and fanatical nature of the label in an attempt to appeal to their target audience.

Ravera Wines is the new brand from Fernando Ravera, an Argentine wine producer with a lot of attitude. Fer has been producing wine for over 20 years, working for a variety of famous wineries across the country, such as Navarro Correas. For this project, he wanted to aim towards something different than what he has been doing for so many years. He is looking to show his personal touch in the products he develops.

The challenge of this project was to design a label that represented Fernando and his personality, a very particular one. His target audience is regular wine consumers, based in Argentina, whose ages range from 30 to 45 years old. So long as they are open to a unique twist in a highly saturated world of wine, they are the ideal demographic.

Our objective was to create a label that would go on a box of three wines, accompanied by other Fernando products, in order to achieve an innovative design that is different from the traditional proposals.

We decided to show two perspectives of Fernando’s personality: his internal and external world. So we took several photos of him at the studio. After that, we developed the idea for a collage. To do so, we combined the sets of pictures to form an atypical face. We chose a beautiful landscape and endowed it with mystical, fun situations, animals, and characters—just like Fernando’s personality. We combined nature, wisdom, mysticism, and a bit of madness to show his inner world, mixing both reality and fantasy. In this way, Fer wouldn’t need a presentation or explanation, because his wine’s labeling would speak for itself.

The packaging consists of a Cuvee Stile paper label, printed in offset on a straight glass bottle. The lid is made of black sealing wax and has a transparent lacquer over the illustration to give it volume. The wine box is made from wood and includes three different wines: Malbec, Cabernet and a Red Blend.

Ravera Wines is not your average line of wine. It provides exclusivity since there are only 1,800 bottles. So if you happen to run into one, you are lucky. You will know what it is all about.
