Getting kids into the bathtub can be a challenge, as most parents can attest. But sixty years ago, that struggle became a bit easier thanks to Mr. Bubble powdered bubble bath.

Since then, the product has evolved into other forms such as liquid concentrate, foam, and even Pop-Rocks-Esque fizzy crystals, but according to the brand, the old-school powder is its most requested item. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Mr. Bubble, owned parent company The Village Company, is bringing back a powder formulation and boxing it up in some vintage packaging that looks like it came straight out of Sterling Cooper & Partners.

Mr. Bubble’s nostalgic throwback recreates the boxes that first hit the shelves six decades ago, using the same soft pink base and mid-century typography set in a dark blue. The smiling Mr. Bubble himself gets positioned front and center, of course, and a kid in the bottom corner is earnestly enjoying bathtime. Recognizing that bubble baths aren’t just enjoyable to kids, the back depicts a tiara-wearing woman treating herself to a bath in an illustration reminiscent of pin-up art but, you know, the very safe for work kind.

“The bubble bath category has continued to grow steadily, and Mr. Bubble is leading the way," says Michelle Hanson, vice president of marketing for The Village Company, via press release. "Mr. Bubble appeals to everyone, conjuring nostalgic memories for parents while getting kids excited for bath time. The reformulated powder bubble bath is fun for all ages. Timeouts aren't just for kids! Nothing says pampering like a long, indulgent soak in big, soft bubbles. Sit back, relax and take all the ‘me time’ you need.”

The 60s throwback powdered bubble bath is available now on Mr. Bubble's website.
