UNO By Keith Haring Is Steeped In Tradition Yet Infused With Modern Art

In an effort to take a classic brand and combine it with contemporary art, the UNO® Artiste series was conceived and executed. The challenge was to keep the elements of design that make UNO® instantly recognizable while marrying them with the masterworks of a contemporary artist, in this case Keith Haring. Linen finished cards were utilized to ensure quality while 7-color printing was applied to add vibrancy to Haring’s work. Also, four “Artiste Extra” cards were added to the deck. These special cards were designed with a recognizable Haring painting in four parts that when combined show the whole piece. And as the cards are double-sided, it allowed us to display two of Haring’s indelible images. The results are a UNO® card deck steeped in tradition yet infused with a modern artist’s sensibility.
