Greener Packaging For Ace Hardware: The Helpful Place

ACE® Urban Gardening is a virtual rebrand of the existing ACE Hardware striving to expand demography to younger generation of city dwellers. The project consists of logo identity design and packaging design of a complete product line.
Ace Hardware is the globally recognized and trusted leading home improvement company in the “do-it-yourself” home improvement market. Their current and famous slogan is ‘The Helpful Place’.
However, it’s existing logo and product line presentation no longer match with the brand’s image and appears to be older in style. The challenge is to keep the established familiarity of the identity system while updating it to a modern life style for small home city dwellers.
Urban Gardening is a department in new Ace Hardware which dedicated to help you live greener. Combining the process of panting, harvesting and cooking. Our idea supports this vision by maximizing the efficiency in your indoor living space, and providing you with everyday refreshment for taste and also your spirit.
In the set of packaging design the idea of composing this set of packaging base on basic geometric shapes goes in line the solid and essential quality of Ace hardware. The showing of the bright neon orange of the brand logo plays an important role in this set of design.
Light the street lights in cities, it illumines the mute tone of the kraft paper and adds a novelty aspect to the design.
