Snacks can taste great and be healthy, right?
Well, some of us are staring down the Quarantine 15 right this very second, so any kind of snack that can accomplish both feats of strength is worth glomming onto.
Lucky for our pal's across the pond in the UK, they have Metcalfe's, makers of healthy popcorn and snacks. Wanting to portray the dual nature of their treats, designer duo Derek & Eric, along with Silas Amos, constructed packaging that consumers can open at either end, one that calls to the brand's healthier side, and another for its more sinful and decidedly tastier origins.
Metcalfe’s make popcorn and snacks that are delicious, but also "light." A paradox. Playing in a crowded category, the challenge was to tell this story in an engaging, light-hearted way.
We put the product at the heart of the story, creating a duo of naughty and nice characters that spell out the brand's claims to fame. By placing them at either end of the packaging, their "duality" becomes even more clear, whichever way up you look at them.
