Rihanna's Fenty Skin Goes Refillable

Rhianna’s ability to belt out chart-topping bangers is well known, but the Barbadian artist isn’t limited to creative endeavors, as she’s also quickly proven to be an intrepid businesswoman, launching fashion and beauty brands, usually under her surname, Fenty.
Fenty Beauty is particularly notable in its dedication to having a product range that is inclusive of all skin tones and types, finding a market gap and consumer base that was woefully underserved. That same inclusivity ethos is found in her new beauty care brand extension, Fenty Skin, but innovates in an area that still proves a challenge to the industry as a whole—sustainable packaging.
Hydra Vizor, Fenty Skin’s moisturizer and sunblock combination, comes in a refillable dispenser, designed with NYC-based studio Established. The outer box is recyclable, and the fillable pod slides and twists into place, locking it in for mess-free carrying on-the-go. The cylindrical package comes with minimal embellishments while sporting a neutral and pale lilac color evocative of the universality and inclusiveness of the product.
According to the brand, they are trying to remove boxes when possible, and are attempting to use more post-consumer recycled packaging materials and opting for refillable containers when possible.
The packaging is already garnering praise for its ecological considerations (Hydra Vizor is made without the coral reef damaging chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate) from fans on social media excited to try out the new skin cream. Fenty Skin products are available now, though the firm is warning of shipping delays.
