STUDENT WEEK: Pesto Pronto Packaging

Madeline O’Mary’s packaging design for Pesto Pronto is accessible, fun and vibrant. We love that each individualized pesto portion comes in the shape of a frozen ice cube, a nice feature that speaks to the concept brand’s idea that you can spice up and individualize any meal. The hand-drawn illustrations that are on the packaging highlight the key ingredients in a memorable and design-forward way. 

Pesto Pronto is a conceptual brand of individually portioned frozen pesto. Add variety to your regular meals with Thai Peanut, Roasted Red Pepper, and Classic Basil. Inspired by ingredients, Pesto Pronto’s identity includes bright fresh colors, hand-drawn illustrations, and the shape of thawing cubes. The boxes highlight fresh ingredients in each pesto, which has so much more variety than just basil and pine nuts. The back features potential “pesto pairings” to help users expand beyond pasta and begin to introduce produce-packed flavor into other simple meal bases.
