Pantone has introduced 315 colors to its collection, adding colors reflective of current cultural, design, and fashion trends. In addition to the new colors, they have also released a new system made for fashion and interior designers called Fashion, Home + Interiors.
The new curations include neutrals and mid-tones, as well as subdued and smoky versions of Pantone’s most popular colors, adding to their catalog of organic and nature-inspired hues.
The new colors include a variety of reds, oranges, neutral and taupes, as well as a wide variety of blues, inspired by the depths of the ocean and the far reaches of space. Pantone chose Classic Blue as their 2020 Color of the Year, in part because of its ability to inspire to calm and serenity, at a time when we perhaps need it most.
The additions of new pinks show it’s increased role in protest and empowerment, along with spirituality and wellness, moving beyond its traditional niche use to represent gender and young children.
New blacks include deeper and more intense hues such as Black Oyster, Volcanic Ash, and Unexplored.
The new hues will get included in Pantone’s collection of 2,625 colors, and the Fashion, Home + Interiors sets, guides, swatches, and chips are available now.
