Viborg Announces That A New Luxury Coffee Is Here

by Shawn Binder on 10/21/2020 | 2 Minute Read

Wine isn't the only thing you can sip smugly out of a crystal goblet like a Game of Throne's character. Now, thanks to Viborg coffee, you can drink your caffeine like you're attending a lavish dinner party.

This extremely upscale coffee packaging houses the beans in a stark, white bag, allowing the speciality print-out of the roasters to have its spotlight. Using some stellar kerning and negative space, this is a coffee brand that puts your gas station coffee to shame.

Best sipped after a delicious meal next to a fireplace, Viborg oozes decadence.

My goal was to connect the narrative of the micro-roastery with the physical and geographical location of the corporate roastery. The size of the packaging label is scaled 1:1730 and replicates the format of the roastery. The 4 light-colored rectangles on the front label, are equal to the four windows in the celling of the micro-roastery, see the image.

Peter Larsen Viborg is a micro-roastery who only sources coffee from small farms around the world, using only the highest-quality, from small, independent corporations. The micro-roastery is placed within the big corporate roastery at Peter Larsen Kaffe.

The custom logotype is inspired by a vintage map from the Viborg area and printed on a cardboard box in gold chrome. This gives the packaging design a suitable combination of the tangible-cardboard-factory-touch, combined with the refined gold chrome custom logotype. Inside the box, you find information about the roastery, as well as the coffee and its origin.
