Pizza Hut Unveils The Foosball Pizza Box

While the pandemic continues to impact the lives of billions across the world, some flashes of normalcy are returning, just with a few restrictions.
A lot of our usual entertainment binges are still catching up like, say, the film and tv industry. But many of the biggest and most-watched sports teams around the world are back to playing matches in empty stadiums, including the annual European football club contest, the UEFA Europa League.
To get fans in the Asia Pacific region back into another pre-COVID activity—eating pizza while cheering on your favorite football club—Pizza Hut came up with a special pizza box with a mini-foosball table built-in.
The fully functional table soccer pizza houses the cheesy tomato pie goodness in a separate compartment. It’s not a full-size table, which is typically 4ft by 2ft with eight rows of “foos men.” Pizza Hut’s version, designed with agency Ogilvy Hong Kong, is the length and width of a pizza box with half the rows. The game sits on top of the box’s lid and is part of the launch of Pizza Hut HK’s “Best 12th Man Club” promotion.
Ogilvy produced just five of the foos-boxes, and winning entrants for the promotion will get chosen on social media. Also, did we mention the contest is only in Hong Kong? Sorry, rest of the world.
Anyhow, it might be time to start working on the popsicle foosball table you've been sleeping on.
