G FUEL Releases Hype Sauce Featuring Packaging Designed By Illustrator Mike Perry

Using nutritional supplements to boost athletic performance is nothing new.
Thousands of products promise consumers an edge, and in today’s world that doesn’t just include the pitch or hardwood courts, it also means video game servers. Professional e-sports competitors are expected to have sustained hand-eye coordination, quick decision making, and twitchy keystrokes. In a 100-meter sprint, considered the measure of the fastest human on earth, the difference between top runners is a matter of thousandths of a second; in esports, a critical match might get determined by a difference measured in billionths.
G FUEL recognized early on that a supplemental mix formulated especially for improved gamer performance was a gap in the athletic supplement market. Their product includes a low-calorie proprietary blend of vitamins, antioxidants, fruit extracts, “whole-food” caffeine from unroasted coffee beans, and amino acid L-tyrosine, a more sophisticated gamer boost than caffeinated, sugar-loaded sodas that are as vintage as an Atari 2600.
To commemorate their 35th flavor, Hype Sauce, a limited-edition raspberry lemonade flavor, G FUEL called upon the talented, Brooklyn-based artist Mike Perry, whose unique psychedelic style featured heavily on Comedy Central’s Broad City. The packaging’s round and organic red and yellow illustrations are bold and vibrant, a refreshing departure from the laser beams and robots or mages and mystics aesthetics that are often leaned-upon within the gamer space.
“With a name like HYPE SAUCE, we knew we had to partner with a transcendent artist like Mike Perry to design our packaging, and of course, get you hyped,” G FUEL Founder and CEO, Cliff Morgan, said via a press release. “I wanted G FUEL's 35th flavor and its packaging to reflect the heart of our brand: fun, vibrancy, creativity, and energy. HYPE SAUCE embodies all of those characteristics while providing the increased energy, focus, and reaction time that gamers and quite frankly, all of us, could use more of in our busy lives.”
Hype Sauce will also be available for order soon, with early access sign-up available now.
