by Dieline Author on 07/09/2019 | 2 Minute Read

Wednesday July 10th, 2019 | 11:00am to 4:00pm | SVA Theatre

Please join the School of Visual Arts Masters in Branding Department for the Class of 2019 Thesis Presentation on IDENTITY. Five graduate groups will present their repositioning at the SVA Theatre on one of the following topics, all seen through the lens of how humans construct their identity:

Work | Touch | Aging | Parenting | Puerto Rico

Our culture is now at a place in our collective history where it is almost entirely composed of brands. Everything we consume – even the most basic commodities like water and salt – are brands. Brands are so persuasive in their personal, political, economic, aesthetic, psychological, ethical and social consequences that they leave no part of us unaffected. And we use these brands to construct a personal identity and a public persona. This year's thesis undertaking will investigate and deconstruct five modern aspects of identity creation that we believe are in dire need of repositioning.

Tune in on the Dieline for a Live Stream.
