Pat McGrath Releases Yet Another ‘Star Wars’ Collaboration

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

…There was a space-opera turned Intelectual Property that generated billions of dollars in merchandising, turning one man into America’s wealthiest celebrity who you could potentially mistake for an offseason Santa impersonator.

Star Wars has spawned everything from toys to Revenge of the Sith toilet paper, but in recent years lent its branding prowess to a Pat McGrath line of makeup for Covergirl. Now that the final chapter of the Star Wars saga coming to a close with The Rise of Skywalker coming out December 19th, McGrath and her obsession for all things droids and stormtroopers will once again be on full display with their latest collaboration.

The Skywalker collection will include four lip shades and three eyeshadow palettes with the packaging for the metallic, otherworldly set featuring the likes of R2-D2 and C-3PO, as well as these new red stormtroopers, which, OK, cool. Now they’re red? I can’t keep up anymore. Plus, it totally reminded me that the droids had full, supple lips. Either way, the packaging is gorgeous and is just the right amount of nostalgia with the promise of new-character-we-need-to-sell-swag-for.

“We are so excited to work with Disney on this brilliant collaboration celebrating the intergalactic beauty of Star Wars: Episode IX–The Rise of Skywalker,” McGrath said in a statement to Vogue. “The Star Wars characters have become integrated into our culture in such a major way that it’s hard to imagine a world without them! Anyone who follows me on social media knows I am obsessed with Star Wars and otherworldly galactic opulence, ranging from the rebellious beauty of Princess Leia to the gilded glamour of C3PO.”

If you’re looking to gift the McGarth line for the Star Wars completist in your life this Christmas, you’re out of luck until December 26th when the collection will start to ship via their website. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait in line with the other Jawas at Selfridges beginning December 13th.
