Asprey Creative Designs Packaging That Stays True To Brand Shar’s Ethos

Agency Asprey Creative was challenged with creating packaging that both stayed true to trail mix brand Shar’s core values, leading to the Ecotube, a plastic-free and refillable tube that also makes the snack easy to share.
“It wasn’t hard to find a great story in Texas based shar’s super-premium, ultra-ethical trail mix. The challenge was to win over their target - a sophisticated, design-savvy outdoor crowd, and to shine in the highly competitive natural snacks space, zipping their ‘earth first’ credentials into every detail. Our brand strategy paved the way, crunching all their USPs into four memorable words: ‘impossibly good trail mix’. The bear and bird brand mark grew out of the core value of sharing experiences. Next came packaging. The challenge of how to be food-grade and plastic-free led us to the Shar Ecotube. Not only plastic-free but refillable, with a lid designed for sharing and a pocket/backpack/cup holder friendly size, the Ecotube perfectly connects with the brand’s active lifestyle and big-hearted spirit, and is a truly innovative solution in this category. The new brand and packaging has attracted the attention of REI, one of the biggest outdoor retailers in the US with 158 stores nationally.”
