RZA-led Fashion House 36 Chambers Releases Banana Leather Wallet

The banana tree is a versatile plant. Sure, the fruit is delicious, but you can also use the leaves as a cooking utensil or as packaging for your fruits and veggies.

Now, you can use some of those fibers from discarded trees to make wallets for holding your dollar, dollar bills, y’all (C.R.E.A.M. life).

Co-founded by the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, lifestyle brand 36 Chambers released a line of wallets made from the very same banana tree fibers. The resulting wallets are vegan, biodegradable, waterproof, and durable, and they give new life to discarded banana trees, which would have otherwise ended up in the trash bin. The wallet sports a cloud camo background and features bamboo stalks.

The design found inspiration via Shinto forest spirits called Kodama, which reside in Japanese bamboo forests.

All of 36 Chambers’ products are animal-free for ethical reasons, as the RZA and a few other members of the Clan are vegan. RZA’s embrace of veganism is likely a consequence of his unique philosophic platform inspired by an eclectic mix of sources including Kung-Fu movies, Eastern thought, street culture, and comic books.

36 Chambers’ cloud camo wallet is available online now. To fill that wallet up, consult Wu-Tang Financial.
