Budweiser Brings Serious Horsepower To Holiday Stein Cans

Budweiser’s iconic Clydesdales pulling beer wagons have been a consistent part of the brewer’s promotion since 1933 when a team of draft horses made the first delivery of legal-again beer after Prohibition ended. Those same popular workhorses feature heavily in a series of limited-edition festive stein cans for the holiday season.

The four cans highlight beautifully illustrated scenes of those REALLY big horseys pulling wagons through epic amounts of snow. Each can borrows different typography and visual assets from throughout the brand’s rich history, little details that long-time drinkers of the American pale lager will recognize and remember.

The entire set is nostalgic without being kitsch and serves as an homage and showcase for Budweiser’s fantastic beasts, fan favorites that have endured while other animal mascots for the brewer have come and gone.

The outer holiday packaging is equally nostalgic, using the brand’s bow tie logo as a gift ribbon with typography reminiscent of hand-lettered headlines from advertising’s golden age, the perfect present for yourself after another migraine-inducing, soul-searching holiday trek to Target.
