Chobani Unveils Oat-Based Product Line

by Rudy Sanchez on 11/19/2019 | 2 Minute Read

The latest plant-based beverage to cause a stir is oat milk, with brands like Oatly so popular they can’t keep up with demand. The grain-derived dairy alternative isn’t just attracting vegans and vegetarians looking for something to lighten their coffee; Greek yogurt-maker Chobani is getting in on the oat milk game with a new line of Oat-based products including milk, snack cups with fruit and granola, and coffee creamer.

As with their dairy yogurt, the oats are batch-prepared and use traditional methods to transform the Canadian prairie organic, non-GMO oats from sun-dried grains to a wholesome, plant-based dairy alternative.

The whole range of Chobani Oats features soft color combinations and farm-themed graphics, as well as images of the flavors and ingredients, drawing on their in-house design team's folk art leanings. The packaging also features a farmer in a red shirt and green overalls, usually tending to oats, fruits, or nuts, although in one case, the farmer is resting in a field and in another, riding a crate-equipped bicycle, presumably to the market.

“Like yogurt, oats are an ancient food with deep roots in our culture and our land. These grains deserve to be celebrated,” said Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani in the product line announcement. “I always knew our journey from yogurt to becoming a modern food company would be through nutritious, delicious, batch-made products like Chobani Oats, and today they're helping us further deliver on our founding mission of making better food for more people.”

Chobani Oats will be available starting this month.
