Chobani Releases Limited-Edition Cookies & Milk In Support Of Dairy Farmers

Dairy farms conjure images of pastures occupied by grazing spotted Holsteins and sheds where farmers milk their prized cows early in the morning. The reality is less idyllic, as it turns out dairy farming is both hard work and a tough business to thrive in. Over the last decade, 17,000 dairy farms have shuttered, a reflection of the challenges facing America’s milk-folk.

Chobani has a vested interest in the well-being of dairy farmers, as they manage the source of their primary ingredient. Their latest flavor, Farmer Batch, builds upon their dairy industry initiative Milk Matters that supports a farmer's ability to thrive while caring for their animals and the environment, improve worker wellbeing, and fund community support.

The milk and cookies flavor comes in black and white packaging that resembles the iconic spotted dairy cows and ties into the limited-edition batch. Chobani will also donate ten cents for every purchase of Farmer Batch to American Farmland Trust, an organization that offers micro-grants of up to $10,000 to help farmers keep their land, strengthen their business, or to develop climate plans.

“We want to continue our mission-led innovation to help make a meaningful difference in dairy for the communities we operate in, the farms we source from, and the fans for whom we make our food,” said Peter McGuinness, president of Chobani, via press release.
