These Crackers Come With Enticing Product Photography

Norwegian agency Pakhaus designed the packaging for Sætres Beste, a high-quality cracker brand. The packaging utilizes muted colors and product photography in order to create a visually-appealing look overall.
“Orkla was relaunching the biscuits for cheese series Sætres Beste, now without palm oil. With more (especially foreign) competitors entering the market, they also wanted to cement their position as the ultimate premium biscuit for cheese. The goal when we developed a new design for this series was to create clear associations to indulgence, cheese, wine and biscuits; as well as high-level food knowledge.”
“What does the ultimate cheese and wine evening look like? In order to re-establish an experience of contemporary premium, we cut down the number of design elements, and replaced them with two visual means: The cheese and biscuit image as the great hero, and a characteristic label. Inspired by the renaissance food paintings, we ended up with an unusual photo shoot using ‘light bars’ with several minutes of exposure. Wine labels and classic cheese design gave inspiration to our labels and the organisation of information. The quality marks of Parmesan cheese wheels inspired the pattern on the sides of the boxes. A Cheese Master (in fact) has developed all the biscuits in the series, and we gave her knowledge and tips a key role on the back of the packaging, to support Sætre as the specialist on the cheese/biscuits combo.”
