Pastor Winery’s Red Wines uses a small detail that we see everyday and uses it in a new way. The tag from our clothing helps us identify the sizing and materials of what we wear, and the labels for this line of red wines has a similar tag to identify it as Pastor Winery’s. For the three wines, Kadarka, Blaufränkisch and Bikavér, kissmiklos designed the packaging to have a minimalist approach and small but impactful elements that help it to stand out from other wines.
“We created little funny concepts for all kind of wines. Blaufränkisch: Blaufränkisch has a false story. During the Napoleonic Wars, the french soldiers paid one blue paper money (franc) for this wine. So I evoke this false story with the Napoleon's portrait. Bikavér: (Bull's blood) This was the winery's 1st Bikavér. So I show a young bull's head on the label. Kadarka: I designed this label's front like an old encyclopedia page, which show this kind of grapevine.”
The black, white, and red colors give Pastor Winery’s line of red wines a sense of authority and implies that they’re serious about making amazing wine. Information is presented in a methodical manner, with the large, bold sans serif font on the front gives it a bit of a modern and energetic edge. The black bottles are sleek, allowing the tags from the label to pop out and immediately catch the consumer’s attention. On each bottle, the detailed illustrations add a bit of personality to the clean-cut label.
