Bean to bar chocolate is having a moment, and we’re definitely not going to fight it. When Roasting Masters wanted to expand their products to include artisan chocolates as well as coffee, they turned to Studio CFC to create something that would stand out in an ever-expanding market.
“Considering the situation that Roasting Masters has been successfully run for 10 years in coffee industry in Korea and their name was also relevant for bean to bar business, we decided to keep their name and revitalize the brand identity instead of creating new one. When revitalizing brand identity, we tried to keep their visual essence in a sophisticated and modern way. We created a solid logo and put a cacao in which used to be a coffee bean.”
“For the chocolate packaging, we researched visual heritage from Latin America, where all beans for Roasting Masters are from. We made vivid color palettes and drew patterns inspired by Latin culture. We also developed illustrations introducing 'bean to bar' for those who are not familiar with it.”
Pulling from the vibrant hues of Latin American culture, each bar has its own unique color palette and graphics. The designs are made to look as if they were painted on, and we can see small imperfections in the color’s coverage that gives the packaging personality. It also reminds consumers of the smaller operation that bean to bar chocolate is, making each bar feel a little more special. Roasting Masters’ logo has a cacao pod replace the letter “o” which helps to expand the brand while still keeping loyal customers interested in their work. The brand name appears in a shimmering gold which elevates the quality of the brand overall.
