Split Rail Winery: The Horned Hare

Published

Do you dare imbibe the wine of the horned hare? Conrad Garner created this mystical label for Split Rail Winery’s grenache, a special release for their wine club coalition members only.

Using tarot and ouija board inspiration, The Horned Hare is masked in mystery. The three-eyed animal looks straight on with haunting, serious eyes, guarded on either side by a skeleton. With thick and purposeful lines, the illustration style looks like a tarot card. Unique flavors combine, like vanilla, berry, and spices, and the label seems to encourage those drinking it to truly take a moment to enjoy it thoroughly without distraction.

“Grenache is sexy, like your best friend’s aunt, or someone’s uncle Tim. It is the Mephistopheles of the Ganges; whatever that means. It’s all smoke-laden berry pie wrapped up in a spice bomb hurricane, French kissed by a Mexican vanilla crème brûlée bon bon, smeared onto a pumpernickel tea cracker. Drink this, in silence.”
