Clever Reimagined Artwork on FAMOUS Cider Labels

You’ll immediately recognize the art featured on the labels of FAMOUS Cider, although they might look a little different than you remember. That’s for a good reason, as Depot WPF has given these classic paintings a bit of a twist.

“Depot WPF branding agency created a new brand of cider for ‘Alliance’ company. Famous pieces of fine art, minimalism, and a portion of irony is the formula of this project. The packaging design of the new cider unites simple graphics the popularity of which is rising at the moment and remarkable paintings of famous Russian and international artists, easily recognised by 100% of target audience.”

Each of the famous artworks has been altered slightly, portraying the subject after enjoying a few bottles of cider. The Son of Man painting, for example, is reimagined on the label in a slightly minimalist way (as all of the labels are), and he is seen leaning casually against the wall behind him. It’s a subtle difference that adds in a bit of humor, while still allowing consumers to recognize the original pieces of art. The color palettes of all three work wonderfully together, incorporating stormy grays and some light rose hues. Bottles are then wrapped in paper featuring the same illustration, enriching the opening experience for the buyer.

“Drinking cider is a pleasant process which can have an unpredictable ending though. Even for the most famous characters whom you can recognize even in the simplest graphic. Eat the fruit to the end to make your own story. One day it might become famous, too.”
