4 Pines Black Box Dark Ales
by Theresa Christine Johnson on 11/23/2016 | 2 Minute Read
A dark ale that tells a dark tale. The A Team designed the clever packaging for this beer that uses spot varnish to tell its story—something you can really only examine if you hold it up to the light.
“From Australia's 4 Pines Brewing Co. the Black Box tells the story of the blackest of tipples and the tales of madness behind them. The brewers at 4 Pines have held up a light to the murky history of these ales and revealed all. When customers hold up the Black Box bottles to the light, they too can reveal all—the labels have been printed with spot varnish on matte black stock. The curious will be rewarded with millennia of brewing history when light falls across the varnished copy and designs. From darkness comes enlightenment...and a single gold foil flame on the label lights the way.”
The 4 Pines Black Box creates an immersive experience for the consumer, and it encourages them to search for information and interact with the packaging. Images of candles and lamps contribute to the feeling of a different era, transporting consumers to a different time and place completely. The combination of fonts and elegant, ornate details situates the beer as a high quality that craft beer lovers will enjoy.
