HARPER MACAW CHOCOLATE

If you can get your hands on one of Harper Macaw's chocolate bars then you are one lucky duck! A chocolatier that takes their practice very seriously enlists the help of Design Army to create packaging that captures the essence of Brazil's rainforest. A logo was created evoking a tribal mask while paying tribute to the namesake Harpy Eagle and Hyacinth Macaw. A symmetrical design, depicting tropical foliage, creates a striking image that stands out on store displays with an added touch of gold foil.
THE HARPER MACAW STORY
"Harper Macaw is a bean to bar craft chocolate manufacturer that turns chocolate into a force for tropical reforestation. Extraordinary chocolate requires exceptional cacao, and exceptional cacao requires healthy rainforests.
We source our cacao directly from select farms in Brazil’s Atlantic and Amazon rainforests, two of the world’s most threatened biomes. We craft chocolate with extraordinary flavor, aroma, and texture using precision state-of-the-art equipment in our Washington, DC factory. We then work with non-profit partners to reinvest a portion of each sale in rainforest restoration and protection. Our name, Harper Macaw, represents the Harpy Eagle and Blue Hyacinth Macaw, two endangered species of Brazil’s rainforests."
"Harper Macaw develops several types of fine chocolate bars for very specific reasons: single estates to showcase cacao flavor profiles from individual farms; estate blends to demonstrate the flavor complexity that results from combining cacao from different terroir; and chocolate with inclusions such as fruit, spices, nuts, tea, and coffee for playful flavors and textures."
