Get a taste of the Arctic Midnight Sun. These powdered power berries (think lingonberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, and more) are packed with health benefits and can easily be sprinkled on your favorite foods. Launched in 2014, the products add vital nutrients and vitamins to foods, and after a year Saana Hellsten and Annsi Mattila were hired to revamp the packaging and visual identity.
“After a successful year it was time to improve the packaging again. This time the powder needed to be in re-sealable jars and the whole visual identity was to be updated as well. The brief was to refresh the branding to reflect better the arctic background of the founders and the ingredients. The inspiration is taken from the nature and the product itself; the cylinder shaped packaging is like a deadwood trunk, common to the scenery in Lapland and the colorful round lids remind of the berries. The logo is playful yet strong and immediately communicates the essence of the brand; arctic berries.”
The redesign looks fresh and with a splash of Nordic inspiration, but the cylindrical containers feel health-conscious, promoting the benefits of the powders. An icy white background allows the modern sans serif font to pop, as well as the color that is associated with each flavor. The lids pop open easily, allowing them to be added to your foods like cereals and yogurt. A logo of a deer with antlers is at the top of the container, complete with a twig full of berries in its mouth. This reminds the consumer of the natural qualities of the product inside.
