Pizzas and movies just belong together. Pizza Hut has always been an innovator in their business, so for their latest promotion Ogilvy & Mather Group HK created a pizza box that you won’t want to toss in the recycling. The box features a small circle in the front that you can pop out so it acts as a projector. The pizza is delivered with a small lens inside, and once placed inside the opening, all you have to do is sit back with friends, relax, and stuff your face with a pizza pie.
There are four tasty box designs, suitable for different movie genres: romance, sci-fi, action, and horror. The images are true to Pizza Huts brand, drawn only in black and red. The illustrations interact with the projector opening, featuring a sunset or a creature’s tentacle, for example. Some of the names on the boxes are fun and advertise pizzas that were already available, like Hot & Ready (with the romance image) or Fully Loaded (for the action image).
The idea takes something that people love putting together — pizza and a movie — and adding a twist to it. Combining retro vibes from projector movie screenings of the past and incorporating a DIY element make the box more than just packaging, but a memorable experience.
