Nasa’s Skylab packaging concept for educational gifts such as telescopes, model rockets & freeze dried ice cream.
The hypothetical Nasa Skylab kit packages a Galileo telescope (Galileo), dry frozen ice cream (Astro Bites), and a 25-inch model rocket kit (Pioneer). All of the packaging prototypes have a NFC chip built in to interact with the Skylab app where kids can use a virtual star map called Atlas when using their telescope, monitor the distance and speed of their model rocket, and view a live feed from the ISS. The packaging is 3-D printed, the tube is made from starch and the cap is made from FDM.
