Fruttolino are nutritious fruit bars developed for children in order to encourage healthy eating habits. Launched onto the Swiss market, the packaging for these goods, designed by Wunsch and Envision, has similar attributes to the product it houses. Recyclable cardboard was the choice of substrate to brand the company as all-natural. The creation of a cartoon mascot overtakes the front of the box and is seen tossing a handful of fruit to show how eating right can be fun.
"Fruttolino is an all-natural fruit bar launched onto the Swiss market. In contrast to most comparable products, Fruttolino has no added sugar or preservatives. Consisting wholly of fruit, primarily dates and figs with a touch of added vegetable oil, the fruit bar is ideal for health-conscious mums and their kids, with a design that appeals to both."
"Children are drawn to the five-bar box by the design’s eye-catching character that doubles as the single pack packaging and the bar inside – while detailed information on high fruit content for mums and dads is featured on the front and back of the packaging. Made of cardboard, the box itself embodies a definite recycled appearance, while the illustrations and text are kept in plain colours."
