The Art of Scent: 1889-2012
by Barbara Zandvliet on 08/11/2014 | 2 Minute Read
Hint Creative worked with curator Chandler Burr to design packaging and display boxes for The Art of Scent: 1889-2012, the first major exhibition to recognize scent as a medium of artistic creation featured at the Museum of Arts and Design in 2012.
"To match the minimally clean installation designed by the architectural firm Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, Hint created a limited edition coffret box featuring eleven of the works exhibited in the inaugural show of the Museum of Arts and Design Department of Olfactory Art curated by Chandler Burr. Each of the eleven scents are contained in glass vials and accompanied by a soft cover book with essays of each piece."
The packaging avoids distraction so that viewers can focus on the artwork, which fits like a glove inside the custom box set.
