Inspired by a beautiful night fall, Orionte Liqueur wine is the first wine ever produced in the untouched landscape of Alentejo, Portugal. The challenge for designer Marcos Cruz was to design and develop a branding that conveyed the landscape of Alentejo, specifically at night. The black bottle and packaging serve as the canvas against the white touches of texture that exhibit a starry night. The stacked "O" in Orionte displays a full moon rising. A descriptive design that captures the essence of this wine.
"In the beautiful and untouched landscape of the Alentejo - Portugal, Adega Mayor was idealized and created by the unique vision of Comendador Rui Nabeiro and his great passion for wine and their own land - Campo Maior. With some of the best wines in Alentejo its now time for Adega Mayor conquer the liqueur wine sector with Orionte."
The ChallengeCreate the identity and packaging design for Orionte wine, the first liqueur wine of Adega Mayor. With a mellow aroma and notes of warm climate this wine represents the spirit of Alentejo.
The SolutionThe packaging of Orionte wine takes the night as a privileged moment of consumption and Alentejo it region of origin. Bottle silkscreened in white with contrasting dark background of Alentejo horizon, plan and starry, in which the full moon rises."
