Monty Bojangels is a range of chocolate truffles that was recently redesigned by Springetts Brand Design Consultants. The packaging features an anthropomorphic cat named Monty who is depicted in Victorian era clothes (monocle and all), as he travels around in hot air balloons and other fanciful forms of transportation.  Each box shows a ‘new adventure in taste’, suggested by a collage of Victorian etchings, original botanical drawings and hand-painted illustrations on a fresh, vibrant colour palette.

"The brief for the current range of six products was to reassess the existing brand to visually communicate a coherent brand story and engaging philosophy, establish the brand’s fame as ‘truffletiers’, create a challenger brand that was unique to the category and communicate the brand’s quality without losing its ‘anytime feel’.

The new packaging will be listed in Co-op, Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and a number of selected high street retailers from late August/early September."

This design reminds me of one my favorite albums, Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins.
