The Small Monsters was asked to the branding, identity and packaging for the launch of an olive oil tasting bar in the Glebe district of Ottawa. The Small Monsters had a very tight timeframe (roughly ten days). They met with the owner, visited the site, created the logo, branding, print collateral, in -store signage and website as well as the artwork for the bottle and gift packaging.

"The gift packaging was a particular challenge: we were asked to create a design that could contain each of the bar’s 4 sizes of bottles (which range from 750mL to 150mL) neatly, in a package that was affordable, environmentally friendly, reusable and able to be stored flat. Because of the considerable size difference between the largest and the smallest bottle, our original idea was to create two different packages. However, through experimentation we were able to eliminate the extra package with a design that would contain each size efficiently by being stackable. The interior holds one large bottle, or different combinations of each of the smaller sizes. The triangular shape minimizes the amount of cardboard used, and allows the package to be stackable when carried. The package folds flat for easy storage and shipping, and quickly unfolds when needed. Post- consumer FSC kraft cardboard and minimal ink coverage was chosen to reduce the package's environmental impact."
