“After designing the very classical label for Château l’Evêché, the Saint-Emilion grand cru, the owner asked us to suggest a design for an “easier” wine with a lower price tag. This wine was primarily aimed at Japanese wine bars, so we had the idea of honouring the art of origami, by folding a French cockerel using a Château l’Evêché label. We thought this would constitute a graphic reminder of the origin of the complete range of their wines, even on the more creative ones. Printed with one colour, the cockerel has a glossy varnish and is creased in order to highlight its folds. Today, this wine is also sold on the US market.”
