Through out the years, I have collected many moon cake tins from Chinese Bakeries. Each year as the Mid-Autumn Festival moves closer, I look forward to seeing new designs from my favorite shops. These Moon Cake tins design from Elsie Tam, freelance designer from Hong Kong, are ones worth keeping. Some where in Hong Kong I am sure a girl is asking her grandmother if she can keep the tin after they are done with the cakes.

"I created this Mid-Autumn Festival package for Hang Heung Cake Shop in Hong Kong. It is one of the most important occasions in Chinese calendar. It is a time for families to be together, to share the joyful moment, to exchange gifts, to eat mooncakes, fruits and play lanterns under the full moon. My ideas was to capture the iconic lanterns in Hong Kong like rabbit, star fruit and foldable paper lantern; also qípáo with beaded curtain to let people feel the atmosphere of our tradition in nowadays"
