"These labels were done to commemorate Vilakazi street, which has great historical reference, as it is the most famous street in the New South Africa, as it is where the struggle for the birth of a fair and just society began. A young boy called Hector Petersen was shot by the police which cause a huge uprising. It is where two nobel peach prize winners (Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu have resided). It is now a place of celebration, arts and culture. hence the hands being used to symbolise this and its many cultures."
