I stumbled across the work of Justin Goode, a designer who creates incredibly detailed packaging renders. These images are all created digitally, and not from photographs. Incredible!

"Justin is a New York based 3d Artist who has been working with 3d for the past 8 years.  Everything ranging from Architecture, to Video Games and most recently, Packaging design.  Living and working in New York provides the flexibility of either working on-site, or remotely for the large amounts of packaging and branding companies located in this city.

All images shown have been created using a combination of Maya, Maxwell Render and Photoshop. Generally the client will provide me with a photo or blueprints of a bottle, from which I will create a 3d model in Maya.  Next the bottle gets brought into Maxwell Render to setup lighting, materials and camera angles and set to render.  After the render is completed, it is brought into Photoshop for generally retouching and postprocess work."

Many more examples after the jump.
