“The main purpose of the University of Kansas’ final graphic design project was to design a brand strategy and visual identity program that will reflect the direction(s) and purpose of a company as it relates to it’s publics. I focused on creating a Men’s Fashion Boutique called Sprezzatura. I wanted to reflect the underlying debonair feel of the 1950’s. Sprezzatura is (adj.) a certain nonchalance, as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it.
I took inspiration from old jazz records, Madmen (TV show), old advertisements from the 1950s and fine fabrics/patterns. It was a dynamic project that touched all bases of creating a brand. I wanted to share it because I am always so interested in the Student Spotlight category of TheDieline.com. I find it so helpful for students to see what other schools are producing.”
